I leave my brother’s house today in Raleigh, NC and start heading west. Seven days and 3,000+ kilometers covered already. Two more weeks and a lot more highway to cover before I am back home in Canada. Me, my motorcycle and the highway.
Yesterday I hit rain just as I entered New York. Had about 1-1/2 hours in it and then it was done.
GPS starting acting up. It just dies without warning. So, I missed a major turn off in Virginia that really cost me. I made it to North Carolina, but was about an hour away from my destination when I decided to stop and get a room.
Yesterday was another 1,100. Kilometer day. But I will be to my brother’s this morning.
I had a nice run on the bike yesterday. Little cool when I left home and stayed cool and overcast till I got into Maine.
Overnight in Southington, Connecticut. Covered a little over 1,100 kilometers. Not yet halfway to North Carolina.
It is dark and quiet this morning. +8 degrees. Wifey is still sleeping and I am making final preparations for my trip.
Motorcycle is all packed, fueled and ready for the road. I am heading down into the United States on a Family and Friends tour. Heading to North Carolina first. Then Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and back home. I will be gone about 3 weeks.
This will be my longest trip by motorcycle. Both in time and distance.
Time to wake wifey…
